2023 Writing Goals | New Beginnings
Good morning all,
It’s so good to be back. I have a treat for you all today. I spent some time thinking about what my goals should be and I knew I needed to have smaller goals than what I would like given the issue of most of my time being spent on school. But this is what I’ve come up with.
I know it’s later, but better late than never right? A late start is just that, a late start, means a busy start to the new year. I finally found time to think about my goals for 2023. But after having some time to think about it. I think I only have two big goals I’ll be working toward.
I want to get ready Book 1 in my Speak No Evil Trilogy for publishing. And I want to finish the second draft of Book 2. Those are my two big goals as I also have school and I plan on getting a job. So I’m gonna be very busy. But those are my two goals. And I am very excited. There is so much left to do for Book 1. I need a cover, and a blurb. I need to finish up the edits and maybe get a proofread on it.
So this year feels like it’ll be the beginning of a few new things and I cannot wait. It’s scary, but some of the best things are scary and you can never achieve your dreams unless you reach for the stars right? So those are my goals. I will be breaking them down into smaller ones and tackling them as best I can.
It’s not much this year. But I’m going to have a lot going on so I thought I’d keep the big dreams a little smaller this year. But I am still coming up with new ideas including my heartbreaking romance series. Which I have decided will be a series of standalones (maybe with connections through friends or acquaintances) but the overarching connection is the theme. This is a series I am very excited about because it’ll be faster to write than any other series because I won’t need to plan out how they fit together. They’ll fit as long as they have some tie to each other. So I think that is my next big project. But it’s gonna be a while before that one becomes reality. I need to focus on these books for now.
