Good Evening Glorious Writers,
Writing is difficult, but the best way to hone your skills and become a better writer is to write. Finding the time and the will to write every day is difficult. Even I have trouble writing every day, some days I don’t write at all, but I miss it. That is my mind telling me what I need, what I should be doing, which is writing.
If I miss it then it means I should be doing that when I have a free moment. Sometimes I ignore it, honestly. Maybe I feel like watching my favourite TV show or reading a book instead, but I do know that I should always set aside time every day to do some writing even if it feels a little like a chore. I do still enjoy it and it makes me happy. Sometimes I just have to put off thing that I would rather do for an hour or two so I can get that daily write in.
Missing a day or several days is not anything to be ashamed of, every writer has their limit as to how much they can and want to write. Just try your best, writing is about enjoying what you do as well as being unable to keep the words in. But sometimes getting the words out can be more difficult than keeping them in.
When I have a bad day especially, I really don’t want to write because I don’t want to remember that bad day. Instead, I usually vacate my world and slip into another where I don’t have to worry about my problems for a while. I read for a while and sometimes if it calms me down enough, I can do some writing after I read. When in doubt about my writing, I always read. Because "reading gives you the knowledge to become greater than you are."
