Writing Prompt Here: First One

Good Evening Lovely People,

If your main character, or any other character you choose, could have any life they chose, what life would it be? How would they choose to live? Who would they be? What would they choose to do with their life? And why would they want to have this life, be this person, live this way?

And here is my story to go with the prompt I picked out.

“Her name was Emily Stan and she used to talk about becoming an artist her whole life, but suddenly we realized, tear-stained, that she would never get that chance. All her dreams would be forever forgotten, they would go unaccomplished. If she was given another day to live, she would do everything in her power to become that person she wanted to be.”

Lily speaks up next, her voice quivering before she finds her words. “She always used to say that she wanted to paint the world from other people’s perspectives. She would ask me to tie a blindfold over her eyes than sit her on a stool before her canvas. She would ask me to stand by the window and describe what I saw. She would paint as I spoke to her, her brushstrokes changing with every word and change in my tone…”

Her voice breaks and she breathes deeply before continuing, “then she would declare herself finished and take off the blindfold then invite me to have a look at the masterpiece sitting on a stand before her eyes. It always looked the spitting image of what I saw and what I felt merged into one. She would have been the best.”

It’s Adria’s turn now, she was closest to Emily and we all hold our breath waiting for her to speak into words the feelings she felt. Her eyes look around the room and she is quiet, she closes her eyes and breathes. “Emily would create from clay, she said she enjoyed shaping it to her will. Then she would sit behind me on a chair and hold my hands over the clay and tell me to close my eyes and feel the clay, the weight of it, it’s texture. And imagine what it wanted to become and create it blind, using only my hands to guide me. It never turned out as well as hers did, but with her help, I made a few unusually good creations.”

“She lived her life always in the shadows of others, trying to aid and help them through her art. She wanted to create in order to help. Her skills would have worked best in a school of art, with her as the instructor.”

I hope you enjoyed the little story I gave you guys and that the prompt helps you out!
