Good morning guys,
Yes I’m a bit late, but I was so tired last night and I’m sure you understand as I have been dealing with moving lately and all with work not letting up. So all the moving issues are coming from my own time. it’s so good to see you again. Plus, I wanted to have something to blog about today, something to tell you all about.
So I did get back into editing Book 1 of my thriller trilogy. I am fixing a lot of the major issues and trying to add in everything else that the manuscript is currently lacking, all while trying to keep foreshadowing in mind and where each of my thoughts and words will eventually lead. I’m beginning to choose some of my words more carefully as they have a greater impact toward the end of the story, the pay off and toward the end of the trilogy with an even bigger payoff when everything falls and all hell breaks loose.
So I’ve been a bit busy this morning, plus I was generous with myself, I allowed more time to sleep in this morning as I have been a tad overwhelmed with everything that’s going on, not to mention anxious about it all as well and the lack of structure and organization with all of my stuff in boxes and bags. But I’m trying to get through it. And All will be better organized soon enough. But I did get to organize some of the chaos and it has already made me feel better.
So now, for the really good part. I did tell you guys I was going to talk more about my plans and the surprises that are now in store. So I have discussed with the artist that wants to design my book cover for Book 1 of this trilogy. I did ask if she would want to design all three covers as I do want the same person to design all three so that they clearly go together and nothing is amiss.
I sent her everything she needs to begin and I am so excited. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with. Then we’ll work together to tweak it and make it my vision for the story. I’m super excited. And once the cover is done I will be promoting her, especially if she does an amazing job like I’m expecting her to. Then I will have the cover for book one and need to decide on a publishing date and begin working out the rest off the kinks and getting an editor involved too.
So I suppose that is the biggest surprise of all, that Book 1 might be available before I even know it. Before I had planned for it to be. I mean, I was hoping to publish soon, but there’s always so much left to get done and I don’t want to put out a shitty first book. I want it to be the very best it can be so I can begin showing the world what I’m made of and that I’m worth their hard-earned money. And at the very least, I will have all three covers likely by the end of this year and all I’ll have to do is focus on the books and put out my best work possible.
The covers should be gorgeous and thrilling, mysterious and set the stage for the entire series to come. That’s what my hope is and I’m sure this cover designer will deliver. I’m so excited to share this news with you all. I do also plan on putting out a newsletter with a portion of the cover revealed as a sort of spoiler or exciting snippet. Plus a tidbit from the actual story. Maybe I’ll have that out next month sometime as I am still dealing with a lot right now. But the pressure at work should let up soon.
