Good afternoon, you lovely, beautiful, amazing people.
I am excited, this is my first time participating in Preptober for NanoWrimo as I didn’t think I’d get too much time to get actual writing done in November so I wanted to give myself a head start on my project by giving myself all the details I can about my WIP (Work In Progress) so that it’ll be easier for me to get through the writing process. But I’m actually doing something different this year for NanoWrimo, I will be taking on 2 different manuscripts and I’m hoping to finish them both halfway. The reason I’m writing 2 is I’ve decided to create a spin-off series that follows the same story as my original idea, but is changed drastically by one choice the main character makes that changes not just his entire life, but the world around him and the lives of all those who are/were connected to him. So as it is following the same rough outline I knew I would need to write them together side by side so that I’m getting all the detail correct and I will need to edit them the same way. This will be difficult and definitely the hardest challenge I’ve ever taken on, but it sounds fun and should feel like a greater accomplishment once they are finished.
So I am very excited to start Nano and to begin this creative challenge I’ve set for myself. I have cut my goals down to what seems to be a lot more possible as I knew it would be almost impossible for me to write and finish both books at like 50,000 words each (maybe more) in one month especially when I won’t be spending most of my time writing. I’m going to be very busy in November, but I’m going to give it my best shot, that’s why I’m planning as much as I can now, during Preptober before Nano so that I can start with the best head start I can. I just might need it.
Are any of you participating in NanoWrimo this November? And if you are do you know what you WIP is going to be or are you still deciding? Or maybe are you like me and will be busy in November and are participate in Preptober to make things a little easier for yourself?
Have a great day writers, readers. Never stop writing and always read as much as you can. I wish I could read more than I do, but I do a lot of things and sometimes it’s difficult to do them all. Happy writing!!!
