Hello again lovelies,
How have you been? Are you managing okay without me? I hope so. I’m managing without you, barely. I missed you guys! Well, I have an interesting topic for you today. Sadly I am not currently creating an anthology, but I’ve purchased one and hope to purchase more in the future. I think it’s a great way to be introduced to new authors that you may love, especially when you only buy the book because of a favorite author has a story in it.
Now, I absolutely love anthologies and I think they are an amazing opportunity for every author involved. For younger perhaps unpublished authors it’s a perfect way to get out into the publishing world and be introduced to a community, an audience and begin finding some followers and fans, which comes from the authors who already have those things. But those more popular authors also gain an advantage, they get to be introduced to the audience of any other author involved. Therefore every author benefits and gets their work more widely spread and read.
This being said. I do hope to create one of these myself one day, to be part of one. To gather together a group of authors and their stories and stick them together where they best fit and celebrate them all. All writers as one, working together where all benefit. Or, where the profits go to charity is also a very amazing way to sell books and make the reading community feel like they are helping make a difference even if it means just feeding their book buying addiction.
I believe anthologies help everyone. And I would love to be part of one one day and to be the creator of one one day. Where I’m the one gathering all the authors together under one theme and telling them to spill their ideas out for readers to enjoy.
I’m currently reading a recently horror anthology Called We’re Not Home where all the profits go to a charity (I believe for young writers or readers, but don’t quote me on that. I think it may be bringing books to children who cannot afford them.). PS. if you click the link it brings you to the amazon page for it. And it’s very inexpensive, one of the cheapest paperbacks I’ve ever bought anywhere. And it’s well worth it. My favorite story so far is the first one my Kate Cavanaugh an authortuber. But I have yet to finish it and I think another favorite of mine will be Cam Wolfe’s story at the end, another favorite authortuber of mine.
I want to be part of something like that one day. Hopefully one day soon, fingers crossed. Hopefully the next time I post about anthologies it’s because I’m part of one.
Well, thanks for tuning in again today guys. I know it’s another short one, but I got this idea last minute and just needed to get it out. I’m gonna miss you guys. Lots of love! Take care of yourselves, your mental health and try to counteract the burnout you’re feeling, get plenty of rest (if it’s feasible), don’t worry you’re doing great and we all see it. I’ll see you all again soon. Happy reading and writing. Until next time guys, bye.
