Hey lovelies,
It’s good to be back. Now, I’ve been feeling a bit down with editing my current project because it’s taking so long to make progress because there is just so much wrong with it. So, to make myself feel better, I’ve decided to begin expanding on an older idea that I haven’t had much time to spend on. But this idea has me really excited after having an epiphany about it.
I find that for me focusing on only one project is hard because that project is only in one phase of the writing process and I get bored of spending so much time in that phase, especially the editing and revising phase because it just takes so long to make everything as perfect as you want it to be. So I’ve started moving with myself instead of against myself.
Instead of trying to force myself to focus on one thing that is getting to be very difficult to focus on I change tactics and switch up the project I’m working on to make it feel fun and new again. Some people can’t do this and I 100% understand. But if I don’t then I’ll spend entire sections of my time not doing anything writing related because I just can’t get into the headspace for editing, creating or worldbuilidng, or planning whatever it may be. So I switch and it helps me continue to get work done even if it’s not furthering a specific project.
So I started that today. I’ve begun taking down all the questions I have about this idea and all the facts I now about the world and how it works and if anything is different from ours and how those differences came to be. As well as what is going to go wrong in the first book and with the character and so on. And I’m feeling really excited to be in this creating and crafting stage of the writing process and it’s getting me excited again and maybe I’ll want to blow through this second draft of BK 1 of my thriller series so I can begin drafting this next one.
Maybe next time I decide to mix things up I’ll continue drafting Bk 1 of my mystery series. And by this change/mix up routine, I do mean my main project. I am always juggling projects to keep things more fun and engaging and intriguing, but my main project of focus shifts depending on what is the most inspiring and what I’m getting sick of. But I don’t ever stop editing my furthest project as I want to release it as soon as I can. So no matter which project is my main one, this project is always in play and I always force myself to get some work done on it regularly.
So that’s what’s been going on the last couple days of this week. I also had an Instagram reel blow up it was the shittier version of what is now my more comfortable office space. And I have posted my current office space in a new reel. If you want to check out how that is going. It’s still not finished and we do still want o get a couple of desks to give us more work space. But it’s nearly done. I was honestly not expecting that reel to blow up like it did, but there it goes and people are still viewing it and I took it like two weeks ago.
thank you so much for hanging out. I promises I am planning some bigger things for this blog. I want to spread out a bit and expand on the stuff I do and talk about on here. So please stay tuned, I promise it is coming. I am working hard, I promise. And I will be posting a TBR again for June and I am really excited for that. Now don’t make fun of me because I’m not a fast reader and I am dividing my time between many many things as well as many books at the same time so it often takes me longer to finish reading books even if I have started them. So please bear with me.
Anyway it was great having you here and so great being here. I’m doing a lot right now and trying to get things organized. All in good time. Anyway that will be it for my today.
