Good morning lovelies,
How is your day going so far? Mine is alright. My partner is actually up early this morning and it’s actually nice to spend some time with him this morning. He was telling me that Hunter X Hunter is actually supposed to continue. The author is back from a hiatus and will be continuing the series which I am very excited about. If the manga continues then so can the anime and I really enjoyed that one. Exciting stuff. My partner and I are also hoping to stream a couple of times next week. Sorry for no stream this week, just things have been crazy this week what with some extra things needing to be done with the old apartment. We’re finishing that up then it’s all done.
Now, onto the topic at hand. My favourite genres. Now, I choose reading materials based on their ability to sweep me out of our current world and away into another one so keep that in mind. I enjoy escaping the terrors that are our world because it can be overwhelming, especially to someone with anxiety and who is constantly worrying about something or other including things that are not currently happening to me. So keep that in mind when you see my answers.
Fantasy
Mystery
Paranormal
Horror
Thriller
Steampunk
Now, these are my genres, but I also like reading in other age groups. I enjoy adult, new adult, YA, and middle-grade stories and all for different reasons. And I do enjoy all my genres with a touch of romance because I do love a good love story. I love reading about love and happiness with another person and facing trials and difficulties together and getting through them together. It feels like home, like being with my partner. We try to work together, but sometimes it’s difficult to work together because we have differing opinions or whatever. But we somehow always make it work. And I do also enjoy an array of subgenres, but that would be a very very long list.
I think that is all for this post, but I do plan on doing a post where I talk about some of my favourite books. I even have a shelf dedicated to my all-time favourites. And I’ll discuss a bit about why they are on my favourites shelf.
Thank you so much for hanging out and for caring what my favourite genres are. I think my taste in books though is pretty average. I have been dabbling in a little more of new genres. I am beginning to come around to sci-fi, as I previously hated it because I thought it was mainly about space stuff, which is not my favourite topic. But some sci-fi feels more like fantasy but with science, so I’m trying to reverse the stereotype I’ve been following about sci-fi. And I’ve also realized that not only does my current thriller work contain a small amount of sci-fi, but so do a few of the books I’ve read and really enjoyed.
That will be it for me guys, but I so enjoyed making this post and exploring my own interests in genre and I’m thinking about giving more genres a try. Thank you so much for being here. I am beginning to work on my newsletter for this month. As I did want to put out my very first newsletter and I’m very excited about it. I think I’ll do about one newsletter per month for now as not much is going on at the moment. It’ll be updates on my writing and reading life and plans for the future of my platform.
Anyway, happy reading and writing beautiful writers. I wish you all the best in your own work as a writer and hope we meet again very soon. Lots of love! Until next time, bye. What are your favourite genres? Please let me know below.
